Ever wonder how those intriguing interlocking lizards, fish, and birds made by artist M.C. Escher were created? Those iconic images have mesmerized most of us and may seem impossible to recreate. This class will change all of that as we review the simplified rules to change specific geometric shapes into interlocking designs called tessellations.
In class, we will review the principles of tessellations and the actions needed to create them. Each student will practice these principles on paper where they will fine tune their tessellations before transferring them onto backing for hooking. Once set on your personally created tessellation pattern, we will talk about how best to execute your piece which will include discussions on color, tone, and texture.
At the end of class, each student will have a bound book containing handouts, their personal notes, and printouts of each tessellation they created while practicing each principle.
Come join us for this fun class that will open up the possibilities of creativity and design to produce a unique pattern for you to hook!
Kit Cost is $50.00 and includes handouts, all supplies to create your tessellations, backing, wool to get started on your project and a bound, personalized book of your notes, designs and handlouts.
