For the first time, our chapter is hosting a three day event to include our general meeting, hook-in, lectures, and classes. The event will include daily education with fabulous teachers, vendors, daily drawings, Silent auction, raffle basket, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch included. Three-hour Sunday night mini-classes will feature Nola Heidebreder, Marijo Taylor, Pat Finlayson or Heidi Grevstad.
Monday will feature all day classes with Nola Heidebreder or Marijo Taylor.
Registration:
Registration will begin on May 1, extending until July 15
Registrations will not be accepted if postmarked before May 1, to make sure registration opportunities are fair.
ATHA members will be given first choice for classes for Monday, 18 spots per class, registration postmarks will determine attendance. Wait list will be started if needed.
Mini classes are open to all hookers, 10 to 12 participants per teacher. Same attendance procedure.
*Class fees are paid directly to Chapter 77 as part of your registration, kit fees are paid directly to teachers, they will reach out to you ahead of the event to help you with information on the class project.
Costs:
Saturday: includes dinner, $45 (ATHA Members only)
Sunday: includes lunch, $35 (ATHA Members) or $45 (Non members), Evening classes (Registration and Kits) cost extra
Monday: includes lunch, $75. kit fees are extra.
ATHA membership dues must be current for Saturday attendance and Sunday discount.
ATHA members will be given priority for class registrations.

Discounted hotel rooms available under block group name ATHA 2023, Single King or Double queens. Rate is $109/night plus taxes. Facility is ADA accessible with ground level rooms and elevators. *You do not have to stay at the Shilo Inn to participate; you may come daily, lots of close parking. You may sign up for room as soon as you like.
Rug Hooking supplies will be available to purchase from our Vendors on Saturday/Sunday, and will be open to the public on Sunday from 2-4pm. Vendors who are teaching will be vending from their classrooms on Monday.

Do you want to learn how to punch needle? Here’s your chance to take a great class! This pattern will cover how to punch curves, straight lines, points, small details, and background. Your kit will include finishing instructions which you can complete at home. Lesson and materials include: hand drawn pattern on monks cloth, 100% hand dyed wool yarn, 4 X 6” color photo of completed project for reference and detailed instructions. Oxford punch needle #14 may be borrowed during class and purchased if desired. No previous punch needle experience required. Join Heidi in a project designed to teach beginning shading technique, and learn how a spot dyed wool can be used to create a simple and pretty sky. In this class, Heidi will review basic hooking techniques, guide you through a simple shaded tulip, demonstrate two ways to use a spot dye for sky, and share an easy technique for finishing off a small project. Some basic rug hooking experience is helpful prior to the class, but if you are adventurous you can attend without any prior experience.
Supplies provided in class will include a 5”x7” hand drawn pattern, and hand dyed wool strips for completing the project. Hooks available for purchase in class, or bring your own.
Students recommended to have a frame or hoop to use in class, plus a pair of small sharp scissors.

Join Nola to create a set of 4 coasters on Rug Warp. Wool included to hook 4 coasters. Learn how to create your own plaids with strips of wool using a #4 cut. Written instructions and color photo included in the kit. Finish the coasters with an easy built in fringed edges. Students will be able to select from different kits. They will not be the same-colored wools.

Join Marijo to hook a primitive style owl, using several different techniques such as messy hooking, beauty lines, blending, and textured-beading. She will also show how to use her unique marbleized and hand-dyed wool to achieve a muted palette. Kit includes 9"x7" oval pattern on Linen, Marbelized and Hand-Dyed wool to complete the hooked project, colored photograph of project, and instructions for a simple finishing technique, and wool to back the project.

Pattern on linen. Plaid wool included in this kit. Students may bring other wool to add to the pillow or purchase from the teacher. Learn how to color plan from a plaid and how to hook a plaid. You will also be taught how to finish this easy pillow with a proddy edge (don't worry, you can use your hook). Kit will also include written instructions and a color photo of the finished project. Students will be able to choose from different kits. They are not all the same plaid.

Join Marijo to hook a primitive style Harvest Moon Owl, using her marbleized and hand-dyed wool. The class will cover several different hooking techniques, as well as using neutrals and values in your work. Various ways to hook the motifs and background will also be presented. Kit Includes 10"x10" pattern on Linen, Marbelized and Hand-Dyed wool to complete the hooked project, colored photograph of project , and instructions for simple finishing technique of the pillow. Wool to back the project will be available to purchase, or you may supply your own.
